Off and Typing
Nanowrimo started a bit slow for me. Last Friday I cleaned my house then went out to the yarn shop for open knitting time. That night, I wrote nothing. The next day, I went shopping, came home for some computer time then off to something else. You could say that I was taking it a bit easy. But I have applied some butt glue to my seat and have gotten 8,191 words down.
My goal is to write 2,000-2,500 words each weekday and a couple Saturdays. However, when I worked out my goal, I forgot that I work at the yarn shop on Wednesdays, so it should be more like 2,500 or maybe 3,000. But anyway, the story is coming along.
I'll admit to doing a little cheating, though. I already had my book outlined, which isn't cheating. But I had a couple of chapters already written. I also copied and pasted over the bones of other chapters. So not all of it is written during November, but it could have because it wasn't more than a couple thousand words. So to make up for it, I could shoot for 52,000 words. But we'll see how much this book needs.
The book I finally decided to work on was Knitting in India (working title). Yes, a couple posts back I wrote about characters and developing their profile or dossier. But when it came down to it, I felt I needed to finish something already started than start something brand new. And this one is more workable than a fiction book for now.
